How To Turn Off Swipe Up For Apps
-
This is driving me crazy already. I've been presuming that it'll go away after I access the "all apps" pages, but so far, just about every time I do something on my new S8+, I get the little notice over the dots for my home pages, above the home row -- "Swipe up or down on screen for all apps." Has anyone figured out how to kill that thing?
Thanks!

Mine went away after awhile without doing anything to it.

I just turned off the app drawer completely and went with all my apps on the home screen. It was annoying the crap out of me

OK, that gives me hope. I brought a hammer in from the garage and put it beside my wireless charging stand -- hopefully that'll help the phone decide that "enough is enough" sooner than later. ;-)

Long hold on the home screen/home screen settings/apps button/add apps button. Gone

Signed up just to share this..
Enable developer mode and disable "animator duration scale".. this removes the retarded animation in question..
It could however mess up some other things related to different animations, but I have yet to see any I'll effects..

just scroll up and you will be on apps page
now on the right side top corner you'll see menu option which looks like "3 vertical dots" select that and then select settings->Apps button->show apps button. All done. Thanks01-17-2018 11:21 PM

Same prob different phone but:The Answer & Fix !
Quick Short Version:
1. Gather all unused apps into one cluster.
2. Reset the "Home & app drawer" icon button to Off.This is caused by an app: "Home Screen App Drawer." You can turn it's icon off, but then you no longer have that immediate access to all apps at once. AND you have to go into Settings. (2nd tip at bottom) So here's how to fix all that:
1. Make a list of all the apps you already have out for use.
2. Click the all-apps (problem) button, and make a list of all the rest.
This is only to eliminate dupes, skip if you want.
3. Create a folder for all these unused apps; drag & drop them on top of each other, & label it.
D&D will send you off the page each time, (or you haven't moved it) so once you have a folder its easier to click the + to add. Be sure you have everything.
4. Go to Settings (or long press home screen), Under General > "Select Home, home & app drawer." Leave the upper main two alone, (on) but below > "app drawer icon" to Off, and > OK to set this choice. A pop-up will show, "Home & app drawer is set as default home screen," which means Still, and you want that.
5. You're Done! What you've accomplished is getting rid of that stupid annoying little pop-up, and the icon with it. Now you have the same thing in a cluster button instead. I leave my useful ones out simply to ease clutter, but you can put every one in (as well) if you want.
Want to do without all this work?
The promised Tip:
Once you have Any clustered folder for apps, a tap opens it, and the + button there is the entire list of apps, in alphabetical order. You can't deal with them there, as with the folder above, but you can add them with the + to use it, then off it again after by dragging it up to "Remove," but be careful not to Trash it, they're pretty closer together.

Perfect solution. Better than adding apps button to home screen. Thx!
